Since Liftopia started in 2005, we have always tried to add value to the ski industry. Ultimately, our mission is to help more people spend more time doing the activities they love by helping our partners run their businesses more effectively. Inherently included in our mission is bringing new skiers and snowboarders into the snowsports world. With this in mind, we want to introduce Getting Started, our micro-site dedicated to helping folks understand how the snowsports world works and how they can get started.
Getting Started launched this fall with the goal of being a one-stop resource for snowsports beginners. Today, the site has 30+ articles from ski industry experts covering topics from how to put on ski boots to ski safety to how to renting skis, and we’ll be adding content on a continual basis going forward. Our goal to have all the content a new skier or snowboarder could ever need to get started in one place.
The site is organized into 3 broad categories: Get Equipped, Get Going and Get Around.
The “Get Equipped” section is all about preparing to b on the mountain. How should I dress? Where do I get the gear? What can rent? What do I need to buy? How does the equipment work?
The “Get Going” section is geared toward thinking about and planning a first trip. Where should I go? How much will it cost? How far is the drive? Do I need special tires? Do I need lessons?
The “Get Around” section focuses on what to expect when you get to the mountain. What is the rental process? How do I sign up for lessons? Where should I park? How do I carry skis?
We are excited to launch Getting Started and we see it as a living and collaborative resource. Please reach out to us and let us know what you think or if you have beginner specific content you would like to add to the site.
